Earwax Removal

Safe, gentle and tailored ear wax removal.

At Wang To Hear, we provide professional ear wax removal using a tailored approach. Rather than relying on one single technique, our audiologist assesses your ear canal and chooses the most suitable method for the type, amount and position of the wax.

Blocked ears can be uncomfortable and frustrating. A build-up of wax may cause:

Fullness Reduced hearing Ringing in the ears Itchiness Discomfort Difficulty using hearing aids

A foreign object in your ear?

A stuck hearing-aid dome, an insert, or something else lodged in your ear — don't worry, we can help with that too.

How it works

Our approach

A calm, three-step process — from the first check through to aftercare.

  1. 1

    Ear check

We begin by examining your ears with clinical equipment to understand the condition of your ear canal and eardrum area, where visible.

  2. 2

    Tailored wax removal

Depending on your ear health and how the wax presents, we may use one or more of the following:

    Microsuction

A gentle suction technique that removes wax under direct visualisation. Ideal for soft, loose or accessible wax, and needs no water.

    Manual removal

Specialised clinical tools carefully lift wax away — best when it sits near the canal entrance, or when suction alone isn't ideal.

    Combination

Often, using more than one method together removes wax more effectively and comfortably.

  3. 3

    Post-removal check

Afterwards, we check the ear again and let you know whether any further care, review, or a hearing assessment may be recommended.

Our approach

1. Ear check

We begin by examining your ears using clinical equipment to understand the condition of your ear canal and eardrum area where visible.

2. Tailored wax removal

Depending on your ear health and the wax presentation, we may use:

Microsuction
A gentle suction technique that removes wax under direct visualisation. It is commonly used for soft, loose or accessible wax and does not require water.

Manual removal
Specialised clinical tools may be used to carefully remove wax, especially when the wax is close to the entrance of the ear canal or when suction alone is not the best option.

Combination technique
In many cases, using more than one method allows wax to be removed more effectively and comfortably.

3. Post-removal check

After wax removal, we check the ear again and let you know if further care, review, or a hearing assessment may be recommended.
